Waverley Council Community Project

The aim of this project is to highlight and celebrate Waverley’s cultural assets and heritage using interviews and audio visual stimulus. Towards the end of the project we will deliver a “show and tell” event at a public forum.

We will:-

• undertake desktop research to explore and better understand ‘now and then’ connections between iconic community “anchors” across the LGA including notable points of interest, people, events and the built environment and;
• present the key findings at a public forum to be held at the Bondi Pavilion in 2024.  Participants will be encouraged to ask questions and contribute their views on the past, current and future uses of some of the LGAs great heritage assets to kick off a discussion about ‘repurposing’  and the future use of heritage assets in the public domain. 

 

Waverley Community Grant – during COVID, and despite the disruptions, we were delighted to receive a generous grant and together with a team of volunteers and in-kind contributions the creative WAGi team produce three outstanding videos to showcase and promote Waverley’s heritage and commitment to community engagement.
